In 2006 I went through a phase of discharging. I know, it sounds disgusting. It smells as bad. Discharge is a type of paste substance that is added to dyed fabric that removes dye from the fabric when heat is applied. Basically it is a bleaching agent, a little bit safer, though just as stinky. This is the first of three you will see here that uses this technique and then the finished product is varnished onto a stretched canvas.
